stampotique challenge time

this week at the stampotique challenge, nellie has asked to create something, anything other than a card.  i created this journal page.
i used acrylic paints and sprays and masks to create the background.  i layered some patterned paper for the grass.  i stamped my rubber stamp, feline, on cardstock and used copic markers and paint pens to color it.  i cut him out and glued him to the page.  i used the top of the my roc's angel rubber stamp to create the top border and then colored it in with paint pens.  the dream in color rubber stamp was stamped on coordinating cardstock and cut and pasted to the page.
If you would like to join in on the fun you can find all about the details by clicking the above link.  If you play you will have a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate towards Stampotique stamps, and really, who couldn't use more stamps?!

this journal page was made using my rubber stamp stacked cups sold through stampotique.

here is another page from my dyan reaveley journal.  working on a black background reminds me writing on a blackboard.  the circles on the page were cut from hand-painted deli paper i made a while back. don't you wish life was as easy as using chalk on a blackboard? we could easily swipe an eraser over it and have a do over.

my little corner of the world

when i was looking to buy a house in florida one of the things on my house check list was a walk in master closet. i never had one and i thought it would be kind of like a little luxury.

when i moved in to the house i quickly realized storage space comes at a minimum and i was so happy with my walk in closet.  but as time went on and i started bringing art supplies to the new house i had to figure out a place to make an art room.

after having a walk in closet, it turned out it wasn't really a big deal for me.  as a matter of fact, it was just a big closet and i had such few clothes that it seemed like a waste of space.

that's when i decided i wanted to put my art room in the master walk in closet.  many people tried to talk me out of it, and to this day, a lot of people are still encouraging me to make the spare bedroom into my art space, but overall i am quite content being in the closet.  even though this space is really tiny i honestly have to say i love the fact that it's a place to go that is all my own.

nothing in my house is ever messy, except my art room.  i use so many supplies to work that i have things every where.  eventually i get sick of spending so much time searching for things that i get motivated to clear the clutter and clean up.

so, i just spent two days reorganzing things.  i am always hopeful after i spend so much time cleaning and putting every thing in its proper place that i will keep it this way.  i've yet to do this succesfully, but this time could be different.  change is always possible and so my hopeful state continues.

stampotique challenge time

this week at stampotique, valerie has asked to do a challenge where we create something from an envelope.  we were suppose reinvent it somehow.
i created this little money/gift holder. after i used acrylic paints to color it, i folded it in half and used a punch to create a hole to see the stamped word fly on the inside.  i used my flying bird rubber stamp and used pop dots to place it over the ribbon.  the scallop lace border is also one of my stamps.
i used my scissors to cut down the flap at the fold line and then iglued the left side of the envelop together.  the right side of the flap is not glued and opens up to place a gift inside.
